Have you ever gone to the optometrist or ophthalmologist and had to get your pressures taken. Some places may blow a puff of air on your eye or like North Toronto Eye Care, use numbing drops and check by lightly touching the eye with a pressure gauge. This new tonometer allows us to use a very light probe to make contact with the cornea for less then a second. The patient barley notices the measurements, which is ideal for children and those who are non-compliant, or have limited mobility. We are excited to have a new modality at the office.
