Patients who are interested in LASIK  tend to ask about the chance of having dry eyes after surgery.  Dry eyes are a typical symptom after LASIK Surgery but according to a study in the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, having “all laser LASIK” is the way to avoid dry eyes. This study looked at the difference between performing LASIK using a femtosecond laser versus a microkeratome to produce a flap; they found that there is a lower incidence of of LASIK related dryness in patients who have surgery using a femtosecond laser “all laser LASIK”.
