Upon completion of your assessment, you will have a detailed understanding of the following:

- Alternative treatments available if you are not a candidate
- The technology used at our Toronto laser eye surgery Centre (safer and more effective than ever before!)
- What investment is involved
- What financial arrangements can be made, including 0% interest financing options
- TLC Laser Eye Centre, our surgery centre understands the importance of good vision in our day-to-day lives. As we experience the world, in large part, through our eyes, it is our constant hope that enjoyment of the experience will not be complicated by a failing in our vision. Unfortunately, neither our eyes nor the rest of our body is intended to last forever, and many of us begin noticing gradual changes in the quality of our vision over time.
We do not believe in surrendering to imperfect vision. At the TLC Yonge Eglinton Laser Eye Centre, Dr. Rabinovitch use the latest in laser eye surgery technology, including LASIK and its alternatives, to enhance your vision, giving you a new lease on enjoying the sights the world around you has to offer.
LASIK is one of the most popular elective surgeries to correct eyesight. The procedure involves using highly specialized laser to reshape the cornea – the transparent layer covering the front of the eye – to better focus light on the retina and improve vision. LASIK can be used to correct some of the most common vision problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. LASIK is associated with very little pain although some people may feel slight pressure or mild discomfort.
Freedom From Glasses & Contacts
LASIK may be able to completely eliminate your need for contact lenses or glasses, even if you’ve worn them your entire life. Since its FDA approval in 1998, it’s become the most widely performed and accepted form of laser vision correction, with NASA and the US military allowing custom correction for their astronauts and pilots. LASIK can change the way you see the world forever.
Is LASIK Right For You?
Although LASIK has changed how millions of people view the world, it isn’t always right for everybody. To determine whether you are an ideal candidate for LASIK laser vision correction, make sure to consult with your eye doctor to confirm that your prescription has been stable for 18 months and book a personalized no obligation screening with a team member at North Toronto Eye Care. Not everyone is an ideal candidate but North Toronto Eye Care offers alternatives that provide the RIGHT option for you.
A Unique Approach To The LASIK Procedure
Dr. Rabinovitch has performed thousands of LASIK vision correction procedures in Toronto since his first in 1999. All laser vision correction surgeries work by reshaping the cornea, but while some LASIK procedures simply reshape the cornea based on a standard prescription, each of Dr. Rabinovitch’s patient treatments is completely personalized – just like a fingerprint.
NTEC combines topographical analysis, Femtosecond laser and advanced LASIK technology to create a correction map based on the unique characteristics of each eye, custom tailor an individual treatment plan and decisively deliver your personalized, ALL LASER vision correction. Dr. Rabinovitch uses an incredibly precise laser to create a thin, hinged flap on the surface of the eye and reshape the tissue below. The flap is then brought back into place and serves as a natural bandage.
NTEC Technology Offerings – Advancing The Speed Of Sight
Custom LASIK uses new Wavefront technology to create a topographical map of your eye before surgery, for the most accurate vision correction possible.
Blade-free LASIK with Femtosecond laser technology is the first “all laser” procedure, offering precise incisions done with a Femto laser instead of a sharp metal blade.

North Toronto Eye Care – You Can See The Advantages
LASIK is a life-changing procedure and choosing a surgeon is an important decision. You need someone that you can trust to help you figure out which particular procedure is best for you and you’ll want to consider a number of factors, including:
About LASIK
LASIK improves vision safely and precisely by reshaping the cornea to correct nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. Vision improves within minutes, and most patients eventually enjoy 20/20 vision or better after treatment. LASIK is the most commonly performed elective surgery in Toronto Canada.
LASIK combines the advantages of two sophisticated technologies: the accuracy of the excimer laser and the benefits of lamellar keratoplasty. It is safe, precise and highly successful. Thanks to LASIK, millions of people worldwide have experienced the wonder of clear vision without glasses or contact lenses.
LASIK offers many improvements over other refractive surgery procedures. These include little or no post-operative discomfort, immediate vision improvement, and the ability to drive or return to work quickly—sometimes as soon as the next day. Most patients require no corrective eyewear after surgery (although patients over 45 often need reading glasses).

Not everyone is a good candidate for LASIK. When you come in for an evaluation, your eyes will be examined to determine whether LASIK or another refractive procedure is appropriate for you, and whether you are at risk for any complications.
Who Is a Candidate for Lasik?
- Is over 18 years old;
- Has had stable vision for at least six months;
- Has a healthy cornea thick enough for a flap;
- Has refractive error(s) that fall within the treatable range;
- Does not have a disease or condition that could impair the procedure or healing process;
- Has been educated about the procedure including its risks and benefits.
- Understands that the goal of surgery is to improve vision and reduce dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
- During your consultation, Dr. Rabinovitch will review your eyesight and discuss whether LASIK is right for you.
LASIK Forms
Choosing A Surgeon
Choosing to undergo eye surgery is a difficult decision with long-lasting consequences. You will live with the results of your surgery for years to come. That’s why it’s so important to find an experienced surgeon equipped with the latest technology to ensure that you enjoy the best surgical result possible, with improved vision and no complications. You probably don’t want to put your eyesight in the hands of an inexperienced surgeon or budget LASIK practice.
LASIK Alternatives
Patients with thin corneas and extremely high nearsighted or farsighted prescriptions may not be good candidates for LASIK. Alternative procedures such as PRK or implantable intraocular lenses may be better alternatives.
Custom LASIK And PRK FEES
Fees INCLUDE all laser customized PRK or LASIK procedures, all pre-operative planning and post-operative care provided for one year, the surgical consultation, testing and any enhancements for the first year. After the first year, for any changes in prescription, please refer to TLCvision lifetime guarantee.
It can get confusing when you try to understand laser vision correction fees. Prices across various laser eye surgery centres vary so it’s difficult to know who can be trusted. There are some laser eye surgery centres around Toronto that offer “discounted rates.” Many others have fees that are unreasonably high. Certainly, you have to wonder how such a huge price range could exist.
If you want a doctor who will ‘just do the surgery’ and let you figure out the rest on your own, or if you’re looking for the lowest prices possible, then TLC Yonge Eglinton Laser Eye Centre probably isn’t right for you.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for expert treatment, continuing support, and professionally monitored follow-up patient education, then our laser vision correction offices in Ontario are perfect for you. Our expertise and support will make your laser vision correction surgery a positive and successful experience.
At the TLC Yonge Eglinton Laser Eye Centre, we offer an all-compassing price package. Everything you need for great eye care is included in the cost of surgery: your pre-operative care; customized surgery; 24/7 on-call access to a surgeon and post-operative care that does not finish until you are completely satisfied with your results. Your individual success rests on your being able to trust the team of professionals who are taking care of you every step of the way – always. That is why all of our patients are entitled to a Lifetime Commitment so if at any time after having surgery you require a “touch up” or enhancement, it will be fully covered!
When you choose TLC Yonge Eglinton Laser Eye Centre for your laser vision correction in Toronto, you can rest assured you will be given all the necessary information and support you need to make your individual experience a successful one.

Benefits Of The TLC Lifetime Commitment®
Our intention is to help patients who come to TLC maintain their highest quality vision throughout their entire lives.
Patients who have visual changes with time may require additional treatment. They will receive another same-technology procedure without charge at any TLC Laser Eye Center in North America.
Qualifying patients are automatically enrolled in the TLC Lifetime Commitment® program upon completion of their laser vision correction.
Patients needing or wanting a Custom LASIK enhancement can undergo the procedure for the difference between the current price of conventional LASIK and the cost for Custom LASIK. If the patient had Custom LASIK originally, their Custom LASIK enhancement is free.
Every patient who chooses TLC for LASIK is covered under the TLC Standard Enhancement Policy. If a patient’s vision worsens anytime within a year, we will cover the cost of an enhancement treatment that uses the same technology.
Payment for vision correction is generally an eligible medical expense on your Canadian tax return. Please consult with your financial consultant. In addition, we offer financing options for most procedures and our refractive consultant will be happy to assist with any questions.
Payment is required in full prior to treatment. We accept payment by cash, certified cheque, debit, VISA, MasterCard, or American Express.
